WHAT IS REIKI?

"Reiki is an energy healing treatment that works holistically; on the whole body, mind and spirit. Not a system of religious beliefs, Reiki is simply a relaxing treatment whereas natural healing vibrations are transmitted through the hands of a Reiki practitioner (acting as a conduit) to the body of the recipient. The purpose of a Reiki treatment is to relieve stress and pain, induce relaxation, release emotional blockages, accelerate natural healing, balance subtle bodies energies and support other medical modalities including traditional therapies."

Kathryn is a certified Usui Reiki Master Teacher, who spent a year in full time, intensive Usui Reiki training with an IARP recognized healing arts school. She offers both in person and long distance Reiki Healing sessions, and is honored to have worked with clients spread across the world.

Equine Reiki

Kathryn developed Equine Reiki out of a desire to utilize her extensive equine anatomical, psychological, and bio-mechanic education, as well as her diverse range of experience in the veterinary field, in order to create a new branch of holistic healing for horses. Equine Reiki redefines the human mind and body based system of Usui Reiki, and marries its principles and philosophies to equine psychology and anatomy, therefore Open Heart Horsemanship’s Equine Reiki operates with a chakra system that is totally unique to equine psychology and anatomy. Equine Reiki has no medical contraindications and beautifully complements other alternative therapies as well as traditional western veterinary medicine.

Partnership Reiki

Kathryn developed Partnership Reiki sessions as a way to offer people and their horses a way to mutually experience the healing energy of Reiki. During Partnership Reiki sessions, horse and human share a space, such as a round pen, while receiving their healing sessions one after the other. These sessions not only include Reiki for horse and human, they also allow horse and human to connect with one another on a deeper energetic level through the practice of energetic grounding.

Spirit of the Horse Reiki

Spirit of the Horse Reiki sessions were created to give those who wish to experience the healing energy of horses during their Reiki session, but do not have a horse of their own.
